The 360°
Trust is a pioneering
social enterprise,
founded by furniture designer/maker,
Jonathan Kiff
and based at the
newly renovated
Old Sawmills
on the
Castle Hill Estate
near South Molton, North Devon.
The Trust is a
business, and whilst we are in business like any other to make money,
just making a profit is not an end in itself.
Our aim is also to have a positive impact on
the local community, the people with whom we work, our employees
and the environment. This is achieved by channelling income
generated by the business into our social goals. |
We have three primary objectives:
-
The support, nurture, and advancement of
new designer makers working in the contemporary applied
arts, aiding their business' growth, and profitability.
-
To train and mentor new applied arts
entrepreneurs through a benchmark apprenticeship programme
and business support package.
-
To benefit the local community and
economy through the creation of high value skilled
employment, educational and community initiatives and the
creation of a visitor destination.

We deliver the first by providing fully
equipped workshop and business facilities to self employed
craftsmen and women on a shared ownership basis, for no capital
outlay, and for substantially less than the cost of renting such
facilities.
In return, we simply ask that they
contribute to the achievement of the other two, our social
objectives, by helping to run our apprenticeship scheme and
other community programmes.
 |
Members of the Trust
enjoy many benefits, not least state of the art
facilities in
a supportive and creative
environment, access to the collective skills and
experience of fellow members, our business
partners, and stakeholders, competitive
advantage through co-operative enterprise and
economies of scale, and social capital through
shared ownership and mutuality of purpose.
Our goal is to build
a dynamic, creative environment that attracts, supports, and
trains the very best talent in all contemporary applied arts
whilst fostering a culture of responsibility and concern for the
social and economic welfare of the local community. |

In
short, we exist to make a difference, in the way that we are
managed, in the way that we work with the local community, and
in the way that we do business.
